High-Rise Under Construction Collapses in Bangkok After Powerful Earthquake

Bangkok, Thailand – A high-rise building under construction near Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market collapsed on Friday following a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Thailand and neighboring Myanmar. Authorities have not yet confirmed any casualties.

Dramatic footage circulating on social media shows the multi-story structure, with a crane perched on top, crumbling into a massive cloud of dust as bystanders scream and flee the scene.

Police have responded to the collapse but have yet to determine how many workers were on-site at the time.

The earthquake, which struck midday, was followed by a strong 6.4 magnitude aftershock, prompting widespread evacuations in Bangkok. Authorities have urged residents to remain outside as a precaution against further tremors.

Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
