The Immigration Bureau of Thailand has announced the launch of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system, set to take effect on May 1, 2025. This new system will replace the traditional paper arrival card currently required for foreign nationals entering the country.
Under the TDAC system, all foreign visitors must submit their arrival information electronically before traveling to Thailand, regardless of whether they are entering by air, land, or sea. The initiative is part of the government’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at modernizing immigration procedures, reducing paperwork, and enhancing the convenience of travelers.
Administered by the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, the TDAC online form requires visitors to provide essential travel and personal details before arrival. Compliance with this new requirement will be mandatory for all foreign passport holders, including tourists, business travelers, and long-term residents.
However, exceptions will be made for travelers transiting or transferring through Thailand without passing through immigration control, as well as those entering the country using a Border Pass.
The transition to a digital system reflects Thailand’s commitment to improving efficiency and security at its borders while offering a more seamless experience for international visitors.
